Kanokwan Sutthang

Born in 1997 in Bangkok

Kanokwan is interested in the small natural elements around her, particularly short-lived plants such as rice and weeds. She explores the cultural contexts and stories connected to her life through these subjects. Her work focuses on the impact of foreign elements that infiltrate the boundary between nature and human life, .while revealing their unseen or unacknowledged stories. She employs various techniques, including painting, object installation, and site-specific research, with the aim of highlighting the existence and relationships of these small things.

In 2024, Kanokwan was awarded a grant and selected to join Early Years Project 7. In the same year, her work was featured in a group exhibition including Hallucination (2024) at the Silpakorn University Art Centre, Wang Tha Phra, and ‘Merely Encountering the Evident (2025) at HOP PHOTO GALLERY.
